Interview with Stig Wiklund from Sparbanksstiftelsen Norrland, Founders of the Bünsow Business Growth Forum.
For over 30 years, Stig Wiklund has worked as a mental trainer, coach, lecturer and inspirer. Sports stars such as skiing icon Johan Olsson, new superstar Frida Karlsson and professional soccer player Emil Forsberg are just some of the many athletes who, with the help of Stig’s coaching, have won 260 SM, Olympic and World Cup medals, including 55 gold.
Why is the Bünsow Business Growth Forum an important event for you to get involved in?
– I believe it is crucial for our region to create attractive meeting places. Bünsow is a new and unique arena with a focus on faith in the future, attraction and increased growth in the Västernorrland region and northern Sweden. Presentations, talks, discussions and activities are combined in a wonderful mix of events that stimulate networking, innovation and new business.
What do you think about this year’s theme for Bünsow, “Green opportunities in Northern Sweden?”?
– It is a very relevant theme and very important. The theme is very timely…
Being used to working as a mental coach to world stars like Frida Karlsson, Johan Olsson and Emil Forsberg, what do you think about the fact that one of this year’s keynote speakers is world champion Nils van der Poel?
– It is of course a great boost and inspiring to have Nils as a lecturer. He has a very exciting and educational story of how to work towards becoming an Olympic gold medalist.
Who are you looking forward to meeting at Bünsow?
– It’s really everyone who comes. Bünsow is a great network with so many exciting people and speakers coming together.
What are you doing this summer?
– I will be doing a lot of roller skiing on the South Mountain. We will have several starting horses at the racetracks, so there will be a lot of trotting and I will follow the coaches I have who compete/play both in Sweden and abroad. So it will be a great summer!
