Peter Fredman

Professor in nature tourism, Mid Sweden University

This year’s recipient of the Swedbank and Sparbanksstiftelsen Norrland Prize for Sustainable Use of Natural Resources is Peter Fredman.

He is awarded SEK 50 000 for his research in tourism. In recent years, Peter has studied the commercial potential of nature-based tourism, focusing on the experiential values of the forest and the role of nature in the tourism industry. This is an important contribution with the potential to further strengthen Västernorrland’s ability to be a leading Swedish player in the rapidly growing nature tourism sector.
