Big Akwa’s project in Alby, Ånge, focuses on establishing a sustainable land-based fish farm with the goal of producing 6000 tons of fish per year through the use of Recirculating Aquatic Systems (RAS). These systems continuously recycle and purify the water to enable an efficient and environmentally friendly farming process. The facility will cooperate with other industries, especially hydrogen production, to utilize excess heat and oxygen, increasing efficiency and sustainability. In addition, the sludge will be used as organic fertilizer, and oils and proteins will be extracted from the slaughter residues, ensuring that all resources are utilized.
