Robert Egnell, outstanding academic and leader comes to Bünsow!

Robert Egnell is a distinguished academic and leader in the field of defense and security studies. He currently holds the position of Vice-Chancellor of the Swedish National Defense University and is also a Professor of Leadership and Management.

Robert completed his PhD at the prestigious Department of War Studies at King’s College, London, in 2008. After completing his PhD, he continued to contribute to academia by teaching as an Assistant Lecturer at the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, where he focused on international relations, political science and conflict management.

Before joining the Swedish National Defense University, Egnell was a senior researcher at the Swedish Defence Research Agency (FOI). At FOI, he focused his research on areas such as peace support operations, African security, and civil-military relations, which further consolidated his expertise in these important subject areas.

Robert has an impressive track record that includes significant academic achievements and leadership roles in both Swedish and international security research. His work has had a profound impact on the fields of peacekeeping, African security, and civil-military relations, and he is a key figure in the development of defense and security studies.
