Interview with Olivia Åsberg, project manager for Unga Bünsow

Last year, the launch of Unga Bünsow received a lot of media attention and was attended by 150 students from Mid Sweden University. How did the idea for the forum develop?

– One of the long-term goals of the Bünsow Business Growth Forum is to help strengthen the regional competence supply. Given that last year’s theme centered on the need to keep and attract competence, we wanted to show students which fantastic employers there are in our region and the opportunities for jobs. Together with committed partners and people who contributed to the project in various ways, we managed to organize Unga Bünsow for the first time, and it was a success!

Last year you had the opportunity to welcome a high-profile guest like Isabella Löwengrip to the Unga Bünsow. What other speakers do you think would have the potential to attract even more students to the event?

– We are now starting the work on this year’s forum in the project group where our major partners as well as representatives from Sundekon and Mytec at Mid Sweden University can be involved and provide input, share thoughts and ideas about this year’s program and speakers. This year’s theme is “Northern Sweden in the World”, where we during Unga Bünsow want to show the students how international employers are in Västernorrland and the Sundsvall region, as well as the opportunities to make a global career locally. It will be exciting to hear everyone’s input on which person or company is the most attractive attraction!

What is your vision for the future of Unga Bünsow and how do you see it continuing to develop and grow?

– In the future, Unga Bünsow will be established as northern Sweden’s most attractive meeting place for students studying economics or engineering. The forum will be perceived as innovative, professional, and inclusive where we also attract students from other parts of the country and the world.
