Interview with Annelie Axelsson from Timrå Municipality, partner of the Bünsow Business Growth Forum.
Why is the Bünsow Business Growth Forum an important event for you to get involved in?
– This is an event where we participate together with the region’s actors and put Central Sweden on the map. Where we can be inspired, make new contacts and discuss important growth issues.
What do you think about this year’s theme for Bünsow, “Green opportunities in Northern Sweden?”?
– This is a very topical theme where we see a great potential for our region to participate in the “reindustrialization of Norrland”. We need to find our niche where we can attract the right players to the region. Probably it is in this area.
Timrå municipality continues to receive strong confidence from companies regarding the local business climate, where you were ranked second in Sweden in the latest survey. What is the secret to success?
– There are no secrets behind it. Almost 20 years ago, politicians and local government agreed to put business first. This was a long-term goal that we have remained faithful to ever since. For many years now, the whole municipality has met the target through a lot of hard work and a great spirit of service.
Are there any ongoing initiatives in Timrå that you would like to see highlighted under Bünsow?
– The cooperation on Torsboda Industrial Park between several municipalities, which should not only generate more jobs and major social development, but which perhaps above all also strengthens the ability to cooperate and the fact that it is together that we become strong and attractive.
