Peter Carlsson

CEO, Northvolt

Peter Carlsson is the CEO and founder of Northvolt. Peter left his position as CPO and Head of Supply Chain at Tesla Motors in late 2015 to become an entrepreneur, advisor and angel investor. In 2016, he founded Northvolt to build Europe’s largest lithium-ion battery factory.

Before joining Tesla, Peter was CPO of NXP (formerly Philips Semiconductors) with responsibility for procurement and outsourcing. Located in Singapore, he was country manager for Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines. He previously worked at Sony Ericsson and Ericsson and has a total of 13 years of experience in various roles. Basically, Peter has a master’s degree with a focus on production and quality control at Luleå University of Technology in Sweden.
