Mattias Persson

Group Chief Economist och Global Head of Research, Swedbank

Mattias Persson is Group Chief Economist and Global Head of Research at Swedbank. He was previously Chief Economist and Acting Head of Debt Management at the Swedish National Debt Office and responsible for Group Funding at Nordea. Prior to that, he was Director and Head of the Financial Stability Department at the Swedish Central Bank.

He has also participated in several IMF Technical Assistance Missions and served as a member of the Committee on the Global Financial System and the Committee on Payment and Settlement Systems at the Bank for International Settlements. In addition, he has been a member of the ECB’s Financial Stability Committee, where he also chaired the Crisis Management and Resolution Working Group. Mattias also holds a PhD in economics from Lund University.
