Lena Sellgren is Chief Economist and Head of Analysis at Business Sweden, where she is responsible for the strategic analysis activities focusing on global market trends and their impact on Swedish exports. At the forefront of Business Sweden’s economic analysis, she leads a qualified team that monitors international markets and delves into how changing external conditions affect Swedish companies’ competitiveness and growth opportunities.

With a solid background in macroeconomic analysis and public finance, Lena Sellgren has held several influential positions in both the private and public sectors. She has been Chief Analyst at Nordea Markets, and has held senior positions at the National Institute of Economic Research and the Ministry of Finance. Among other things, she worked with tax economic analysis and international negotiations within the framework of the EU and OECD. She has also been an expert in a number of government inquiries and held prominent positions in business policy forums.

She is currently a board member of the Expert Group for Studies in Public Economics (ESO), chair of Statistics Sweden’s User Council for Economic Statistics and a member of the Economic Council of Swedish Industry. In addition, she is a regular commentator in the Swedish and international media and a regular columnist in the German business newspaper Handelsblatt.
