Joakim Abeleen

Joakim leads Business Sweden’s geopolitical advisory practice, helping Swedish companies navigate the current geopolitical landscape through scenario planning, market intelligence, and monitoring of policy implementation around the world.

Previously, he was responsible for Business Sweden’s operations in East Asia and Oceania and served as Sweden’s Trade Commissioner to China. With extensive experience supporting companies on geopolitical matters at both strategic and operational levels, Joakim brings a unique perspective on global business challenges.

Joakim’s background includes senior consulting positions, including leading the Customer & Operations division of a Big Four firm in the Nordics. He also has extensive experience from the transportation and logistics industry, where he has held several senior commercial and operational roles around the world.

Having spent more than a decade living and working in Asia, Joakim combines deep regional knowledge with a global business perspective. He holds a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering and Management, is a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, and has completed a Global Executive MBA at INSEAD.
