David Carlsson
CEO, DiösDavid Carlsson is the CEO of the publicly listed real estate company Diös and has more than 20 years of experience in senior leadership positions within the real estate industry. Prior to assuming the role of CEO at Diös in 2025, he served as CEO of Balticgruppen in Umeå and previously held several leadership positions at Akademiska Hus.
David is passionate about urban development and sees the role of a real estate company as far greater than simply owning and managing buildings. For him, it is about creating the conditions for people, businesses, and communities to grow. He often describes the work as a collaboration between the private sector, public sector, and civil society, where long-term relationships, local presence, and an understanding of each city’s unique circumstances are critical to success.
His leadership is characterized by decisiveness, trust, and a strong belief that results are achieved close to tenants and local markets. Drawing on Diös’ presence in nine cities, he frequently highlights the strength of resilient regional cities, local entrepreneurship, and value creation through active property management, investments, and development. He also emphasizes the importance of regional cities for Sweden’s long-term growth.
