Meet three of the six municipalities that are part of the N6 initiative network in a joint session with Bodil Hansson (s), Municipality of Sundsvall, Lorents Burman (s), Municipality of Skellefteå and Carina Sammeli (s), Municipality of Luleå – all chairpersons of the municipal boards in their respective municipalities.

Over the past year, Northern Sweden has positioned itself strongly on the map of Sweden and the world with several major investments. Here you will find a strong and growing business community. In the last five years, the number of businesses has grown by 20% and profitability has increased by 40%.

The labor market is healthily diversified, providing good resilience to cyclical fluctuations. 37% are active in services, 24% in manufacturing and 39% in public administration. Northern Sweden is also a good place to live, and we have proof of that. We are ranked first out of 270 EU regions in the good living environment ranking. The qualities that stand out most are access to advanced education, good health, social tolerance and a good environment.

The N6 initiative is a network and a catalyst with a mission to renew and deepen the image of the cities in northern Sweden with the aim of creating growth for the whole of Sweden.
