Anja Hannerz

Head of Sustainability, Nordea

Anja Hannerz is Head of Sustainability for the Nordea Group with responsibility for the Nordic expert team leading Nordea’s strategic sustainability work, including corporate governance, reporting, thematic sustainability analysis and regulatory implementation. Anja ingår dessutom som den enda nordiska representanten i FN:s hållbarhetsorgan UNEP FI:s bankstyrelse med ansvar för att styra det globala omställningsarbetet för de cirka 300 medlemsbanker globalt som ingår i Principles for Responsible Banking (PRB). Furthermore, Anja is also a member of the steering committee of the Net-Zero Banking Alliance, an association of around 150 banks with a stated commitment to reach net-zero emissions by 2050.

Anja has deep expertise and experience in the Nordic financial sector. She has in previous roles driven extensive business and development projects in sustainability and climate data, financial risk infrastructure, and financial governance and reporting.

In addition to the last three years of sustainability work in Nordea, Anja has held a number of senior positions within the Handelsbanken Group, most recently as CFO Sweden and CRO at the mortgage institution Stadshypotek. She holds a Master’s degree in Finance from the Gothenburg School of Economics and is based in Stockholm.
