Catharina Belfrage Sahlstrand has a background as a lawyer with many years of experience from Mannheimer Swartling Advokatbyrå before working at Handelsbanken Debt Capital Markets, where she is currently responsible for sustainable business development and acts as head of the sustainable finance team. In 2022, she became part of Handelsbanken’s group management team, making the company the first major bank to have a head of sustainability in its group management team.
In addition to her role at Handelsbanken, Catharina is a board member of the Optimizer Foundation, an impact investor focusing on start-up companies that provide solutions to social problems. She is also co-founder of OmPolitik, a non-profit organization that promotes and facilitates engagement in party politics and the functions of democracy.
