Berners becomes a Partner of Bünsow Business Growth Forum!

Interview with Johan Kempas, CEO of Berners Passenger and Commercial Vehicles

You are a new partner of Bünsow Business Growth Forum – what made you decide to join as a partner?

– At Berners, we see Bünsow Business Growth Forum as an important meeting place for the business community in the region. For us, the partnership is about contributing to the development of a strong and competitive local business environment, while also giving us the opportunity to meet companies, decision-makers, and entrepreneurs who share the ambition to drive growth. We believe in the power of collaboration and see the forum as a natural arena for knowledge exchange, new business opportunities, and long-term relationships.

The automotive and transport industry is undergoing a major transition, particularly in terms of electrification and digitalisation – which changes are most evident right now?

– Electrification is naturally one of the most significant transformations, but we are also seeing rapid developments in digital services, connected vehicles, and data-driven solutions. Customers are increasingly demanding more sustainable transport options, while also expecting smoother and more efficient services. For us, this means combining traditional expertise with new technologies and continuously developing our offerings.

How have customer needs and expectations changed in recent years?

– Today’s customers have higher expectations when it comes to both accessibility and service. They want to be able to access information, book services, and communicate digitally at a time that suits them. At the same time, we see an increased focus on sustainability, total cost of ownership, and long-term value. This places higher demands on transparency, advisory services, and tailored solutions.

Where do you see the greatest potential for growth in the region going forward?

– We see significant opportunities in the green transition, where both businesses and the public sector are investing in sustainable solutions. The region also has a strong industrial base and growing innovation capacity, which is creating demand for modern transport and mobility solutions. Through collaboration between businesses, academia, and the public sector, there are strong conditions for continued growth.

Finally – what type of dialogue or connections are you hoping to establish through your participation?

– We look forward to meeting companies and organisations that want to discuss the future of mobility, vehicle fleets for sustainable transport, and business development. Above all, we hope for open conversations where we can share experiences, learn from one another, and identify new opportunities for collaboration that strengthen both our operations and the region as a whole.
